What’s here?
Doodles, experiments and personal projects
Nice to see you.
Don’t expect finished or polished work here, it will be more of an idea dump, putting thoughts on paper and developing as a creative.
Failing is good
A series of animations highlighting my notable failures from the year to date. This is an ongoing series, and at my current pace, many more will be created soon.
Interactive slider
This test in Rive used blend timelines, and data-binding. Allowing for updates at run-time. Plenty was learnt making this test project. I’m really falling in love with Rive.
Weather, man?
Interactive animation made in Rive, a fantastic piece of software that opens so many doors.
We’re all familiar with weather apps, that show forecasts with the same old icons. This WIP considers if more intricate animations, where we show somebody experiencing the predicted weather.
You may need to double-click to initiate the animations.
Treadmill
You control the speed, the character reacts. Designed and animated in Rive. Used this test project to create chains of animation. It was fun to do, but led me to wanting to learn how to blend timelines with a more fluid motion.
That’s the purpose of these projects, to always be learning, developing and finding ways to approach projects.

Endless Engines
Back in the very early days of learning 3D, I took part in a community render challenge. Wanting to give a home video/playing with wooden cars, a flashback to very happy memories of childhood birthday mornings.
Follow mouse
Simple follow mouse interaction created in Rive.
This technique can be used to create much more complex interactions. But learning inside a more basic framework is ideal for building the basics.
Work/life balance
For my School of Motion 2024 Christmas card.
The brief was ‘in 2025 I want more_________’
My focus for the doodle was work/life balance. It is a frame-by-frame animation, a different approach for me, and a way of working I found very enjoyable.
SoM controller
A project from the School of Motion Unreal Engine course. A nice introduction to the software, an intimidating piece of software I’m learning.
